Frequently asked questions

Everything you need to know before getting started.

Our average placement takes approximately 30 days from your initial request to your helper's arrival in Cyprus. The timeline breaks down as follows: Week 1–2 for candidate sourcing and your selection, Week 2–4 for visa and immigration processing, and a few final days for travel coordination and arrival. Embassy scheduling can occasionally extend this — we will always give you realistic, up-to-date estimates throughout.

To employ a domestic worker from a non-EU country in Cyprus, you need an approved work permit issued by the Civil Registry and Migration Department. The employer must demonstrate that no suitable EU candidate is available (a market test), and the employment contract must comply with Cyprus labour law, including minimum wage requirements, working hours, and holiday entitlements. We handle all of this on your behalf — you simply sign where required.

Costs include our agency service fee (covering sourcing, screening, visa management, and onboarding), government application fees, travel costs, and the helper's salary as agreed in the contract. We provide a full, itemised cost breakdown during your consultation — before you commit to anything. There are no hidden fees. The helper's ongoing monthly salary is paid by you directly in line with the employment contract.

If within the first 30 days of employment you are genuinely unhappy with your helper — performance, compatibility, or otherwise — we will source a replacement candidate at no additional agency fee. We want the placement to work for both your family and the helper, and we work actively to resolve issues before considering replacement. Our team is available to mediate and support during any settling-in period.

Absolutely — and we strongly encourage it. Once we have shortlisted two to four candidates, you will receive their full profiles and can schedule video interviews at your convenience. There is no obligation to choose until you are fully satisfied. You are never matched with someone you haven't approved.

All of our candidates have a working level of English — sufficient for daily household communication, understanding instructions, and basic conversation. Proficiency varies; if strong English is a priority for your household, please mention this in your requirements and we will filter candidates accordingly. Many candidates also receive additional language orientation before departure.

Ethics are central to everything we do. Every candidate joins us voluntarily, is fully informed of the contract terms before departure, and earns a wage that meets or exceeds Cyprus minimum requirements. We do not charge candidates placement fees — our fees are paid by employers only. Contracts are fair, working conditions are legal, and we maintain contact with placed helpers throughout to ensure their wellbeing.

We place helpers for a wide range of household roles: general housekeeping and cleaning, childcare and nannying, elderly and special needs care, live-in combined roles, and cooking and household management. When you submit your request, simply describe what your household needs and we will match accordingly. We do not currently place gardeners, drivers, or construction workers.

Employment contracts are typically for one or two years. When a contract approaches its end, you can choose to renew — we handle the permit renewal paperwork — or conclude the employment. In either case, we guide you through the proper legal process for contract termination or renewal, including notice periods and any end-of-service obligations under Cyprus labour law.
